GirlyAge: 10 years
Breed: Chihuahua Mix Weight: 12 pounds Sex: (S)Female Adoption Fee: $325 learn more
Girlie is a sweet, scared girl who gets along with other calm dogs and has learned to tolerate and ignore my dog-savvy cat. She does need a lot of encouragement and calm to let her sweet and sometimes playful personality show. She lets me put eye drops in her eyes twice daily without a sign of aggression at all. Energy Level? Low House trained? Yes--has never had an accident Describe how they are on leash? She can be a scared in noisy neighborhoods with lots of traffic and activity. She is starting to adapt but for now she be scared of buses and other street activity. Describe how they are with other dogs? Girlie took a few weeks to get used to having her two rambunctious foster brothers around, but now she can hang out with them without supervision. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? Yes, she gets along well with a dog-friendly cat. She simply ignores him now. However, she has chased another very shy cat (who isn't as dog-savvy). Commands they know? Potty. What are their favorite things? She loves to hang out on the couch on lots of blankets, and in her crate and doggy beds hanging out while I work from home. She also likes to spend time in the sun and knows how to use the doggy door. What do they need to work on? She is very shy and needs to work on her confidence. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? She has been left indoors while I went to work--she did use a potty pad at times. Now she is integrated with the other dogs and is fine to be with them when I am in the office. Where do they sleep? She sleeps in my room in a crate (sometimes closed, sometimes not). What is their ideal home? Her ideal home will be one with lots of patience and probably another dog-friendly pooch. She can be very scared and it may take several weeks for her to really show her happy, tail-wagging self! She will need time and a quiet space to decompress and get used to a change. I was not able to walk her for several weeks as it was just too stressful for her. But now she can go for short walks with or without her doggy buddies, and she gets excited when she sees her harness and leash. She is not a dog who will warm up immediately to her new family, but she will warm up and show her happy self. |

DiegoAge: 4 years old.
Breed: Chihuahua Mix Weight: 12 pounds Sex: (N)Male Adoption Fee: $325 youtube of Diego learn more
Diego is a good boy, likes to be close to you when you're sitting around and working on the computer. He's crate trained, and likes hanging out in his crate during the day when you're away from home. At night, he learned very quickly to sleep on a bed on the floor, without trying to jump on my bed. He sleeps quietly until you're ready to get up and let him out. Diego gets very excited to go for a walk, and gets vocal when he sees you putting on your shoes. This is a behavior we're working to extinguish right now. Diego is nervous around new people. He needs an adopter who will understand from dog stress signs and only let him approach them. Diego is not a fit for young children in the home, as children can be unpredictable and make him nervous. Diego's adopters should understand that they should not stick their hands in his face unpredictably, he should be only calmly petted, especially by new people. Once he knows and trusts you, he will roll over for belly rubs. Diego is an affectionate dog, but it's best that he goes to a calm home where he can feel secure. Diego loves to play fetch! He's also good with other dogs in the home. Diego can be a little leash reactive, where he barks and pulls towards other dogs. This is a behavior we're also working on using positive reinforcement. Energy Level? Medium House trained? Mostly Describe how they are on leash? He pulls ahead initially but not hard, and will walk better after a few minutes. Working on leash manners. Describe how they are with other dogs? Good in the same household. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? Yes, Diego has lived with cats in his previous home. Commands they know? Sit, going into his crate with a visual signal What are their favorite things? Playing fetch What do they need to work on? leash manners, he can benefit from more basic obedience cues. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? Good. Up to 8 hours in his previous home. Where do they sleep? Crate during the day, on a dog bed on the floor at night. What is their ideal home? Adult only home, with people who are experienced around nervous dogs and understand stress signs. |

HarleyAge: 12 years old.
Breed: Terrier/Chihuahua Mix Weight: 9 pounds Sex: (N)Male Adoption Fee: $255 learn more
Harley is a sweet and loving senior boy! He will follow you around the house and snuggle up with you on the couch for a movie or a book. Harley has no teeth remaining. Energy Level? Calm House trained? Harley is a senior boy, and during the day, he needs to be let out frequently (every 2 hours); otherwise, he'll have an accident. We recently started him on urinary meds. It's too early to tell if it's helping. Belly bands are working when we can't let him out. He can hold his urine about 6 hours overnight. Describe how they are on leash? Likes to lead but doesn't pull super hard Describe how they are with other dogs? Fine, will bark at other dogs while walking, but he wants to see them. He currently lives with the 2 other dogs in the house and is fine with them. He is also happy to do his own thing. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? None Commands they know? He knows to sit when waiting to be fed. Will come to you if you call his name. What are their favorite things? Eating after his walk, going on walks, sleeping What do they need to work on? Harley is a good old boy. One thing he maybe needs work on is if you’re petting him when he starts falling asleep he will sometimes start mouthing you (he has no teeth) for bothering him. So even though he’s snuggled up against you, you can’t just continuously pet him as he will start gumming you. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? He is totally fine, just chills on the couch. Left alone for a few hours Where do they sleep? Harley is very happy to sleep in his crate. What is their ideal home? Someone who wants a loyal companion and company from having a dog in the house. This person would ideally be home most of the day to ensure he can be taken outside every few hours. Harley would be perfectly happy to lay on the couch next to his human all day long or go in the car or on a walk for some daily adventures. |

He should be fed separately. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? He has been left in an xpen when we leave. He has been left ~4 hours. Where do they sleep? In his bed, in his xpen. What is their ideal home? We think Cashie would do best in a quiet home. Other dogs or cats would be okay or as the only pet. Ideally, only older children who would understand that he doesn't like to be disturbed while eating. This is a behavior that can be worked with over time, however, small children may not understand. Cashmere is a quiet dog— we haven’t heard him bark. He whimpers at times when he wants attention. He is an amazing boy and will happily give you years of love and enjoyment and just asks for the same in return. He’s a chill guy and we just love him! |

He mainly stays inside that carrier with the bed, but I have an additional bed that he can come out and lay on. He would love to sleep with his human. What is their ideal home? GeorgiaADOPTED!!
Age: 5 years Breed: Spaniel Mix Weight: pounds Sex: (S)Female Adoption Fee: $325 youtube video of Georgia learn more
Georgia is very energetic and loves people. Whenever we have friends over, she will cuddle them and ask for pets, even friends she has never met. She likes people on the street and at the park too. She likes to take walks but is also fine to chill and wants to curl up next to you. Energy Level? Medium. All the small dogs we have fostered have been seniors, so I don't have a great reference point, but she can do an hour walk without breaking a sweat (and enjoys it). House trained? Yes Describe how they are on leash? She pulls a bit forward and backward when she wants to sniff something, but mostly she's very good and walks alongside you. Describe how they are with other dogs? Sometimes she is fine, but she seems better with small dogs. She can be territorial and will bark, growl, and snap if they get too close to her (about 4-6' is her range). But she lived with another dog for years, so if properly socialized, she should be fine. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? N/A Commands they know? Sit, wait, her name (Georgia), the corrector "uh-uh" What are their favorite things? She loves people. I think if she could curl up on the couch next to someone (or multiple someones) for 23.5 hours a day (with the remaining 30 minutes for a walk), she might die of happiness. What do they need to work on? Probably nothing. She needs to be socialized with larger dogs and introduced to any dogs she's living with thoughtfully and carefully. Since she lived with Alice for her whole life, she can live with other dogs. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? The maximum we left her alone was about 3 hours. She whined a bit but otherwise was very calm and waits patiently to be let out. We always crate her just as a matter of policy. Where do they sleep? Crate at the foot of the bed What is their ideal home? Georgia would love to be the center of attention. She would also be fine in an apartment since she doesn't need much space and wants to be as close as possible to humans anyway. She is very well potty trained and doesn't need to use the bathroom a ton, so taking her out a few times a day would likely have a very low risk of accidents. For Georgia, the more people, the better. She would probably not like a home where she is not allowed on the furniture and loves going with people when they go out. She would love it if her humans worked from home so she could curl up on their laps or next to their feet. She is a lovely dog. |

Otto is a sweet, friendly, and playful pup. He warms up quickly to new people and has been great with dogs. He loves attention from everyone. He does well with kids and adults. He does get excited and jumps on kids. But he is learning to keep all feed on the ground. Otto loves to play and investigate everything, like a typical young pup. He will get into mischief, so you will want to puppy-proof your house and not leave Otto alone with your favorite pair of shoes. If you leave him unattended, he will try to chew on things around your house, but he gets better daily. He loves chewing on toys and bones and likes to play fetch. Energy Level? Medium level. He can have bursts of energy but settles down. House trained? Yes. The first few days of having him, we did have a diaper on him because he wanted to mark. He has been fine since days 3-4. We take him to my in-laws often and had a diaper on him the first time, and he has not tried to mark there since then. Describe how they are on leash? Excellent. He loves to walk on a leash and explore. We will dart after squirrels. Describe how they are with other dogs? Otto loves all dogs, big and small. He loves to play with his foster friends. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? No reaction to cats. The cat stays clear of the dogs, but we have paraded Otto around the cat while on a leash, and they were both cautious about each other. Commands they know? Sit. Sit before putting on the leash to go outside. "Go to bed" for him to get into his crate. Off and working on leaving it when we are on walks. What are their favorite things? He loves to snuggle and play and chew on things. What do they need to work on? Otto recently is doing some training each week, and we are so excited about his progress. Adopters need to be committed to training for our young boy who deserves it. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? Otto is fine in his crate. He is a chewer, so its best nothing is left with him. No accidents in the crate. We typically leave him for 4-5 hours. The longest time alone in the crate is 7 hours. Where do they sleep? He sleeps either in the TALL xpen or in his crate. What is their ideal home? Otto would be best in a home that is willing to continue his training plan. He is so smart and trainable. Ideally, he would live with an active family. He would do fine as an only dog or another dog to play with him. He is great with kids too. |

He's still as sweet, loyal, and loving as ever, and he's pain-free now, which is all that matters. He's looking for a new home where he can continue to be his amazing self. While he's been with us, Jackson has been learning to make friends. Jackson would love his own person. He's such a cuddly little guy, and he loves the simple things in life, like belly rubs and ear scratches. And have you seen those eyes and that cute little underbite of his? Adorable! Plus, he's already crate- and potty-trained, so he's the perfect companion. So if you're looking for a new best friend, Jackson might be your guy!. |
Johnny BoyAge: 13 years young!
Breed: Jindo/Chihuahua Mix Weight: 20 pounds Sex: (N)Male Adoption Fee: $255 More Photos of Johnny Boy learn more
Johnny Boy -You would never know Johnny Boy is 13 when he gallops through the house first thing in the morning, ready for his walk! A bit hard of hearing, he loves to explore and is happiest on the leash, sniffing his way through his neighborhood. Affectionate and curious. Energy Level? Medium House trained? Yes Describe how they are on leash? Johnny loves going for walks. He is good with people but barks and lunges at other dogs when he sees them. Describe how they are with other dogs? He is very good with his foster brother, Wrigley. They groom each other and often sleep in the same crate. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? A bit too interested in the resident cat initially but now happily ignores him...for the most part. Commands they know? Wait (before heading out the door for a walk) and crate. Johnny is hard of hearing, if not nearly entirely deaf, so visual or physical commands are needed (ie, a light tap on his butt). What are their favorite things? Johnny loves to go for walks and enjoys curling up on his (or my) bed. He loves treats as well. What do they need to work on? General commands...sit, stay. He needs to learn to walk more calmly on the leash when he sees another dog. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? I have left him at the house for up to 8 hours a few times a week. Not destructive and knows how to use the doggy door. He can be whiny if he hears I am in the next room, but he calms down when I leave the house. Where do they sleep? Sleeps in his crate in my bedroom. What is their ideal home? Johnny loves to go for walks...his ideal home would allow him the freedom to explore his neighborhood with a few walks every day. He can get a bit whiny initially if he is separated and knows you are still in the house. He loves to be near his person (he's not necessarily a lap dog, but he likes to be close). He would do well with other dog-friendly dogs. |
CosmoADOPTED!!
Age: 3 years Breed: Chihuahua Mix Weight: 10 pounds Sex: (N)Male Adoption Fee: $325 learn more
Cosmo has come a long way from his days on the streets and now loves to be around his people. His favorite activities include getting comfy on the couch and going on long walks Energy Level? medium House trained? Yes Describe how they are on leash? Cosmo loves to walk!! He is great on a leash. He does pull ahead and lead the way but not in an over-eager kind of way Describe how they are with other dogs? Cosmo is great with other dogs. He tends to bark or try to go see other dogs on walks and once he gets to sniff the other dog, he calms down. If he finds a playful dog, he likes, he loves to run around and play Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? Cosmo didn't seem phased by the resident cat. He liked to play with playful cats Commands they know? Cosmo knows go to your bed, go potty What are their favorite things? Cosmo loves running around in the yard with the other dogs and curly up next to you to sleep while you work. He loves blankets too. What do they need to work on? Cosmo needs to work on not trying to go see every dog he sees on walks and getting more comfortable with new people, but he's getting so much better and more comfortable around people. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? Cosmo is fine, left alone. We have left him for up to 6 hours. Where do they sleep? He sleeps under the covers on the bed next to his humans if he can jump on the bed. What is their ideal home? We think Cosmo would be best in a home with other dogs. He seems more comfortable watching and playing with the resident dogs. He does love his humans after he gets used to them, but he would do best having a friend to play with. He needs a family who will give him time to adjust and get used to them, but after a while, he falls in love with his humans, getting excited and wagging his tail when they come home and wanting to cuddle in bed with his people. |
Sweetie PieADOPTED!!
Age: 3 years Breed: Terrier /Chihuahua Mix Weight: 15 pounds Sex: (S)Female Adoption Fee: $325 learn more
Sweetie Pie! Sweetie Pie is UBER shy but making slow progress every day. Does not approach people and will not take treats unless in her comfort zone. She would never think of biting you. She has come a long way. While initially she wouldn't even eat while I was at home, she now runs happily to the kitchen when it's meal times. She used to hide in the crate but now she will jump on the sofa and settle on a dog bed. But she will still get up and move away when I walk into the room. She is improving each day. She will now come into the bathroom and kitchen when I'm there, which is a major improvement for her. She used to hide behind a tree in the yard, but now she's able to lay down and sunbathe. We recommend leaving the leash dragging so when it is time to come inside you can pick up the leash and guide her. Energy Level? Medium to low House trained? Yes Describe how they are on leash? Walks with you, but will back away if something scares her. She is still getting use to all the hussle and bussle of the outside world. She appreciates when we approach her very slowly to put on the harness and leash. Describe how they are with other dogs? She keeps to herself and is non-confrontational. Sweetie coexists very nicely. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? No. Commands they know? None. She will need patient training. What are their favorite things? Food, chew treats, napping What do they need to work on? Confidence and general socialization How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? Sweeting has been fine for 5-6 hours at a time. She just naps. Where do they sleep? In our doggy room, and in my bedroom at night on a dog bed. Will hide under the bed if I get out of bed but will follow me outside for morning potty. What is their ideal home?Someone very patient, who will understand that she needs time and personal space to relax and trust. Someone who lets her go at her speed and does not push her before she's ready. |

Rose and Remi!! Rose is quiet and sweet. She loves to be at your side and will be your little shadow. Her favorite things to do is cuddle, sleep, eat yummy soft treats, and layout in the sun. Remi is goofy and spunky (in the cutest way ever!). He will also be your little shadow and when he gets excited he has this little wiggle dance. He loves cuddles, sleeping in the sun, zooms, and is very food motivated. Energy Level? Rose: Low and Remi: Low to Medium House trained? Both are house trained Describe how they are on a leash? Both are not super comfortable on a leash yet but they are working on it. They mostly don't move too much on a leash and need encouragement. Describe how they are with other dogs? They don't really pay much attention to other dogs on leash while walking. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? They have done fine with both dogs and cats when tested. Commands they know? Working on basic commands. What are their favorite things? Remi and Rose both love food (Remi more on this one), sleeping in the sun, and cuddles. What do they need to work on? Walking on a leash, basic commands, and getting used to you being away from them. They prefer to be with you, but they both calm down after a few minutes when left. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? I left them at home for up to 3 hours and after a few minutes of whining, they calmed down and fell asleep. Where do they sleep? Inside of their pen and on their beds mostly. What is their ideal home? Their ideal home would be a mellow home. They would love to be around you most of the time but can handle being left with each other while you go out. A home with adults or respectful children would be ideal. What is their meal schedule and what are they eating? They eat twice a day. They like hot water added to 1/3 cup of kibble and wait for the kibble to become soft and cool down. Occasionally I add some super finely chopped-up chicken to encourage them. Rose is more finicky. Remi is not finicky |
